Our healthcare coverage offers comprehensive medical plans. This means you will have access to healthcare that fits the needs of you and your family. Choose from three medical plans: Standard PPO, EPO, and Consumer Driven Health Plan (CDHP) administered by Anthem Blue Cross.
These plans come with many value added aspects. They allow access to one of the largest network of providers in the nation, allow members access to virtual care and provide robust pharmaceutical coverage. For those enrolled in the Consumer Driven Health Plan (CDHP), the Guitar Center Company also offers the option to enroll in a Health Savings Account (HSA). Whatever you choose, our plans offer flexibility and extended resources while remaining affordable.
Our Associates can find support in growing their family through the Guitar Center Company’s fertility care. WIN Fertility is a family building benefit which connects you to leading fertility specialists that provide the most advanced and effective fertility treatment to achieve a successful pregnancy. Note: You must be enrolled in one of the Guitar Center Company medical plans to be eligible for this benefit.
Associates who enroll in an FSA will be allowed to set aside pre-tax dollars to use on a variety of eligible expenses such as Healthcare, Dependent Care, and Commuter Benefits. The money is made available to you when benefits become effective, allowing you to save money on taxes while taking care of normal expenses.
The HSA allows eligible Associates to set aside pre-tax dollars each paycheck to use on qualified health expenses. The Guitar Center Company also contributes HSA funding depending on coverage level. The HSA is a great way to save on taxes while setting aside money for health expenses. Note: You must be enrolled in the Consumer Driven Health Plan (CDHP) in order to enroll in an HSA.
Associates will also have two dental plans to choose from. Both offer extensive coverage with low annual deductibles and affordable monthly premiums. Orthodontia services are also available to you and your children. The dental plans are administered by Delta Dental which offers you access to the largest dental network in the nation.
Associates have a choice between two vision plans. Both plans offer annual exams with a low copay and allowance amounts for frames/contacts with additional discounts. These plans are administered by EyeMed which allows all members access to an extensive network of providers.
All regular full-time Associates are provided with Basic Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, which is paid for by the Guitar Center Company. In addition to the Basic Life and AD&D insurance, you have the option to purchase additional Supplemental Life and AD&D insurance for yourself, your spouse and child(ren).
Short Term Disability (STD) and Long-Term Disability (LTD) provide peace of mind to you and your loved ones. If you are unable to work for a period of time, the Guitar Center Company has made this coverage available to help replace your income while disabled due to a non-occupational illness or injury.
Accident Insurance is a voluntary benefit that can pay you specified amounts for treatment you receive as the result of an accident or injury. This benefit is completely separate from medical health insurance and acts as an additional layer of protection alongside your medical coverage.
Critical Illness is a voluntary benefit that can help protect your finances from the expense due to a serious health diagnosis or condition, such as a cancer, stroke or heart attack. Depending on the coverage you elect and the diagnosis, you will be issued a lump sum benefit amount to use as you choose.
Hospital Indemnity Insurance is a voluntary benefit that helps you pay for the costs associated with a hospital stay. This coverage offers additional protection alongside what is included in your medical plan. Note: You must be enrolled in comprehensive medical coverage to be eligible for this benefit.
These are voluntary insurance products offered through MetLife. Life has many unforeseen moments and the Guitar Center Company wants to ensure their Associates have access to as much protection as possible. These plans are another layer of assurance offered as protection for the unforeseen moments in life.
Prepare for your future by contributing to the 401(k) plan on a pre-tax and Roth after-tax basis. The Guitar Center Company wants to help you prepare for the future. That’s why we’ve decided to offer a dollar for dollar match up to 2% of your eligible compensation. Associates are eligible for this match after a one year waiting period.
This is a voluntary benefit offering Associates low-cost assistance with legal services in estate planning, civil suits, adoption, creditor issues, and more. This coverage comes at a low monthly cost and assures you will have guidance if you encounter confusing or expensive litigation.
The Guitar Center Company offers flexible and alternate work schedules as well as part-time employment at some locations. In addition to all legally mandated leaves, the Company allows eligible full-time Associates with 6 months of service to take up to 90 days off for Gig Leave to pursue musical opportunities.
The Guitar Center Company provides eligible Associates with paid sick and vacation time in addition to paid holidays. The Company also offers time off to vote, serve on a jury, and for bereavement.

Eligible Associates may request reimbursement for tuition, lab fees, and books up to a maximum of $1,500 per calendar year. Eligibility rules apply.
